With Canadian launches in both Calgary and Halifax in June 2007, the Language and Literacy: From Birth... For Life is now making its way to 15,000 child care centres and early childhood practitioners across the country. The Language and Literacy: From Birth... For Life multimedia resource kit provides evidence-based tools to help child care practitioners support young children in their lifelong journey of literacy. The kit is comprised of a summary of current research on language and literacy development in young children, resource sheets, a poster and a CD-rom featuring workshops, interviews and video clips of effective practice techniques.
Portions of the resource kit are available free by clicking on the links below:

My reading disabilities were hard to identify because the tests were designed for English readers. They didn't reflect my cultural background.
It's only by asking the right questions that we can identify and treat my reading disabilities - and take steps to keep French as a first language vibrant and alive.
