Biography:
My path to becoming the communications officer at The Canadian Language & Literacy Research Network began in southern Indiana, Bloomington to be precise. I graduated from Indiana University’s School of Journalism (yes, I’m a huge basketball fan) and decided that the communications field was the right fit for me. Since then I’ve also added public relations education expertise from Ryerson University.
Before joining The Network I worked for a communications agency where my responsibilities included client public relations, marketing, advertising and corporate writing projects. Prior to the agency, I worked for the Peter F. Drucker Canadian Foundation for Nonprofit Innovation.
Outside of the work world I enjoy golf, tennis, gourmet cooking, art, gardening, and travel.
I am an extremely proud parent and have made London, Ontario, home for the past 10 years.
At The Canadian Language & Literacy Research Network, The Network’s research activities focus on early language and literacy skills because these provide the foundation for success in school and in life. I look forward to sharing our science and opening minds throughout Canada in order to help improve and sustain children's language and literacy.
