Student Network - Literacy Volunteers Needed for Frontier College - Contact Martha Anne Roberts

Frontier College, Canada’s oldest literacy organization, is recruiting university students at campuses across the country to tutor children, youth and adults in a variety of programs.

This volunteer opportunity is one that can give you a first hand look into what happens in your local community. Your observations may one day feed future research.

Frontier's mission is to reach out to communities that have been marginalized by poverty, isolation, and circumstance and respond to their particular learning needs. They work with community partners to provide reading circles, homework clubs, and one-to-one tutoring. They work in community centres, public housing developments, schools, and prisons.

Frontier is looking for students who want to make a difference in the lives of others. Volunteer opportunities include tutor training and leadership possibilities in volunteer management.

For more information about Frontier College programs contact the Student Network representative to Frontier College, Martha Anne Roberts.
