Postdoctoral Fellowship in Language, Reading and Cognitive Neuroscience
We are currently recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to join our research team at The University of Western Ontario. The successful applicant will join our group in studying the brain bases of language and reading impairments in children and auditory language processing in adults.
Research in our lab uses a variety of computational, behavioral and neuroimaging techniques including connectionist modeling, eye tracking, functional MRI and ERP. We have access to a range of adult and child participants including children with specific language impairment, dyslexia and other neurological impairments. We also work collaboratively with other researchers at UWO, The Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario and with several other language researchers in Canada and the United States.
Suitable candidates should have a PhD by the start date and hold some expertise in any of the following areas: psycholinguistics, neuroimaging, child language development and disorders, or connectionist modeling of cognitive processes. The position is funded for up to two years through a Premier’s Research Excellence Award to Marc Joanisse. Our research is funded by grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and the Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network.
