Post Doctoral Fellow
Postdoctoral funding is available for an individual
interested in auditory temporal processing,
multisensory integration, reading, language,
infancy, and/ or EEG. Funding is being supplied
by the Canadian Language and Literacy Research
Network (CLLRNet), National Sience and Engenerring
Research Council (NSERC), and the Canadian
Institues of Research Health (CIHR) agencies. As
a member of CLLRNet, it would be possible for the
candidate to visit and spend time in other labs
associated with the network (www.cllrnet.ca) with
the aim of picking up additional skills. The
Department of Psychology at McMaster University
has a rich tradition in experimental psychology
and particular strengths in the areas of
animal learning and behaviour, evolutionary
psychology, neuroscience, development, perception
and cognition (www.science.mcmaster.ca/psychology).
While the candidate would be free to interact with
any members of the department, their primary
mentors would be Dr. Laurel J. Trainor
(www.psychology.mcmaster.ca/ljt/) and Dr. David I.
Shore (www.mcmaster.ca/dshore). The ideal
candidate would have expertise in some of auditory
perception, matlab programming, adult psychophysics,
the recording and analysis of EEG data, and be
comfortable with infants.
