Assistant or Associate Professor of Education (Special Education)

This is a new tenure-track position offered jointly by the College of Education and the Children, Youth, and Families Consortium. The successful candidate will have faculty responsibilities that include teaching and applied research in the area of language and literacy (reading). Faculty member's tenure line will be in Special Education. The faculty member will have an affiliation with the Children, Youth, and Families Consortium, a multi-disciplinary research center.

Beginning

Fall Semester 2005

Appointment conditions

A 36-week tenure track appointment will be made at the assistant/associate professor level starting August of 2005; summer appointments in research and/or teaching may be possible. Desirable qualifications

Applicants should have an ongoing or emerging program of research in literacy that will focus on the integration of literacy research and effective classroom instruction as related to the issues of literacy instruction for at-risk/special needs students. The program is especially interested in candidates with research interests in developing and evaluating applied interventions that promote academic success.
