External Scientific Advisory Board
Responsibilities
Advisory to the Board of Directors and Research Management Committee, the External Scientific Advisory Board provides independent commentary to help implement and advance the Network's research program. Responsibilities include:
- Providing independent advice to strengthen ongoing Network research projects, particularly in regard to:
- importance of project topics and relevance to the Network's mandate;
- originality of the science involved, and overlap with other work, including particularly work outside of Canada;
- project quality, with reference to international standards;
- progress during the previous funding period(s) and/or the relevance/significance of previous work by the applicants;
- appropriateness of the proposed budget and milestones;
- any other aspect of proposed work of which the Research Management Committee should be aware
- Identifying potential new research topics of particular relevance to the Network.
