Biography:

Research to date has focused on children with phonological disorders. Phonological development is concerned with knowledge of the sound system of ones language, both at the perceptual and articulatory levels. My research has been simultaneously targeted at (1) basic research investigating the underlying causes of phonological disorders; and (2) application of basic research findings to the treatment of phonological, early language, and reading disorders, with a particular emphasis on computer applications.

The language and culture of my heritage is passed on to me orally. it's a different way of learning than how I am taught at school. How do I keep my traditional culture alive while learning to read and being immersed in the majority culture?

Reading is the core of learning and staying in school. Improving my reading skills will open up the doors to future prospects.
