Biography:

I am a cognitive psychologist and Associate Professor of Psychology at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. I perform behavioural and electrophysiological investigations of dual-task attentional performance to understand the limits of attentional abilities. I am an investigator on the project "Rapid naming and its contribution to reading ability: Cognitive Neuroscience and genetics" where we are using a variety of methods to investigate what mental processes underlie the relationship between reading and RAN performance.

The language and culture of my heritage is passed on to me orally. it's a different way off learning than how I am taught at school. How do I keep my traditional culture alive while learning to read and being immersed in the majority culture?

Reading is the core of learning and staying in school . improving reading skills with young Aboriginal children can open up the doors to future prospects.
