Biography: As a developmental psychologist, I am interested in understanding how children learn language and literacy from events that ��occur naturally in their lives. One such activity is when parents (or other adults) read books to children, or when children read books themselves. The language and culture of my heritage is passed on to me orally. it's a different way off learning than how I am taught at school. How do I keep my traditional culture alive while learning to read and being immersed in the majority culture?
