Biography: My path to working in administration started in England working for Davies Mayers Chartered Accountants. After my experience abroad, I moved back to Canada where I worked in various customer service positions, including one with Bell Canada. From there, I took a position as Administrative Assistant for EK3 Technologies Inc. and then as Executive Assistant with the London Technology Group. In 2001, shortly after the Network's inception, I joined as the Program Officer. At The Network I am responsible for working with the Research Management Committee and Highly Qualified Personnel Committee to implement The Network’s Research and Student Opportunity programs. I also coordinate the Network Centres of Excellence reporting requirements and provide administrative support to the Network Administrative Centre. I have two beautiful daughters, Keira (2.5 years old) and Meaghan (1 year old) who continue to amaze me everyday. Outside of the office I enjoy the company of family and good friends, reading and kickboxing. |
The language and culture of my heritage is passed on to me orally. it's a different way of learning than how I am taught at school. How do I keep my traditional culture alive while learning to read and being immersed in the majority culture?
Reading is the core of learning and staying in school. Improving my reading skills will open up the doors to future prospects.
