Learning the Research Ropes: Mentoring as a Two-way Street

What do successful mentors do? What should students expect in a mentor? What difference does a good mentor make in a student's life?  What difference does a good student make in a mentor's life?  These questions will be addressed through illustrations from my work with graduate students over the past two decades. I will share accounts of how students' potential as researchers were realized, and the fun we had making that happen.

Lunch with Leaders

Eat and greet! Lunch with Leaders was a resounding success at our Annual Network Conference in Charlottetown, PEI in 2006 and we are excited to bring this popular activity to Calgary.

This year, highly regarded Network researchers will offer their time and expertise during a sit-down lunch with the students on Sunday, June 10.  Each small table of students will be joined by a current Network researcher.  These small groupings will allow for optimal interaction and discussion between student and researcher.  More information will be posted in the coming weeks.
