Major Research Activities

I am currently finishing a dictionary of Cayuga (Iroquoian). I and my MA students are also exploring phoneme perception and 'phoneme awareness' in dyslexics.

My research areas of interest include: generative phonology, Optimality Theory, government phonology, and dependency phonology; Cayuga (Iroquoian) phonology, morphology, and lexicography; phoneme perception and manipulation in dyslexics, and language acquisition; Spanish and Italian phonology; Algonquian phonology; Inuktitut and Labrador Inuttut phonology; the syntax-phonology interface; generative syntax.
