About Jill:
My path to becoming the communications officer at The Canadian Language & Literacy Research Network began in southern Indiana, Bloomington to be precise. I graduated from Indiana University’s School of Journalism (yes, I’m a huge basketball fan) and decided that the corporate communications field was the right fit for me. Since then I’ve also added public relations education expertise from Ryerson University
Before the Network I worked for a communications agency where responsibilities included client public relations, marketing, advertising and corporate writing projects. Prior to the agency I worked for the Peter F. Drucker Canadian Foundation and for a conference and event management company. Duties at these organizations included management of special events and conferences, internal and external communications, media buying and media relations.
Outside of the work world I enjoy golf, tennis, gourmet cooking, art, gardening, and travel. My favourite travel spots thus far are the Chianti region in Italy, Gordes, France, southern California and the FDR resort in Jamaica. Charles, my husband, and I are the extremely proud parents of Alexis Mara, a very verbal toddler. We’ve made our home in London, Ontario for the past nine years.
At The Canadian Language & Literacy Research Network I look forward to sharing your science and opening minds throughout Canada.
