Network research project disseminates 30,000 calendars to Canadian child care professionals

 

Network Researcher, Luigi Girolametto, University of Toronto and Network Partner, Elaine Weitzman, The Hanen Centre and their team launched the Canadian Language and Literacy Calendar helping to improve language and literacy skills in preschool children on April 30, 2021 in Toronto, Ontario.

 

 

 

         

 

 

 

This calendar grew out of a Network sponsored research symposium entitled Enhancing Caregiver Language Facilitation in Child Care Settings where leading experts from Canada and the United States shared the most up-to-date findings on how to facilitate children's language development in child care settings. These findings appear in the 16-month, full-colour, child-friendly calendar as monthly quick tips, covering September 2004-December 2005.

Each month presents a different language facilitation focus:
