The objectives of the Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network are straight-forward and, as such, powerful: produce excellent new research; develop highly qualified professionals; create a proactive network of researchers and partners; transfer knowledge by leveraging technology; communicate to our audiences; and manage resources effectively. Judging by the five stories in this issue of clarity, we are achieving our goals. We are sharing evidence-based science and we are opening minds to improved language and literacy proficiency for a new Canadian generation.
