Biography: I am currently doing my MA in Child and Youth Studies at Brock University in St. Catharines Ontario. My research is focused on the barriers to resource access and allocation for children with communication delays. I am especially interested in why some families are not tapping into the resources available in the community. Upon completion of research, I hope to work closely with service providers. At this time, the perceived barriers will be taken into consideration and hopefully modifications will be made to service delivery. The intent is to have more of the 'hard to serve' families accessig services for their children by providing service delivery that meets their needs.Future Interests: Not available. |
The language and culture of my heritage is passed on to me orally. it's a different way off learning than how I am taught at school. How do I keep my traditional culture alive while learning to read and being immersed in the majority culture?
