Biography:

Ann Marie joined the CLLRNet team in January 2003 as the Executive Assistant – a newly created position at that time. She also serves as Secretary to the Board of Directors. In these roles, she works very closely with and assists the CEO and Scientific Director, the Managing Director, the Board Chair, and other Directors, in their responsibilities.



Ann Marie has enjoyed the opportunity to work closely with some of CLLRNet’s community partners. This has included Investing in Children (Book Camp London) and Ontario Early Years (Letter Fun Pilot Project). She also volunteered with the Learning Disabilities Association as a tutor and the Women’s Community House in both childcare and fund-raising activities.



Ann Marie brings extensive experience at the senior administrative level having worked with many Boards and senior executives across the country in various fields such as law, healthcare, social services, and hospitality. She holds a B.HEc. in Family Studies from Mount St. Vincent University (Halifax) as well as a Professional Certificate in Creative Writing from The University of Western Ontario.

The language and culture of my heritage is passed on to me orally. it's a different way of learning than how I am taught at school. How do I keep my traditional culture alive while learning to read and being immersed in the majority culture?

Reading is the core of learning and staying in school. Improving my reading skills will open up the doors to future prospects.
