Biography: Andrea’s responsibilities involve planning and coordinating meetings, workshops and Network communications initiatives, including writing and editing various internal and external publications, assistance with media relations and the coordination of the Annual Network Conference. Andrea came to CLLRNet from the London Health Sciences Foundation, where she held the position of Stewardship Officer and focused primarily on donor relations. She has additional experience in external communications in the not-for-profit sector, as well is in broadcast journalism. Andrea holds a B.A. in History and Political Science from McGill University, and a Master’s degree in Journalism from The University of Western Ontario. |
The language and culture of my heritage is passed on to me orally. it's a different way off learning than how I am taught at school. How do I keep my traditional culture alive while learning to read and being immersed in the majority culture?
Reading is the core of learning and staying in school . improving reading skills with young Aboriginal children can open up the doors to future prospects.
